karma

My Honey's brother's no-gay-couples-at-our-JW-wedding-ceremony-and-reception went off without a hitch ... sort of.

His parents and four of his siblings attended the wedding. The youngest brother and his girlfriend's response card came in with "will not attend" in a show of support for our sixteen year relationship. They'll always be in my cool book.

The wedding ceremony was an hour long ... did I mentioned how happy I was to be spared this? ... then they all drove an hour from Connecticut to board a yacht in Manhattan for the reception. It was a nice yacht, big enough for two ceremonies.

My Honey's mom and her sister got a bit bored at their reception and decided to take a walk around the yacht. They peeped into the other reception hall and were surprised at how one sided the attendees were. They returned to their table (way in the back - WTF?) with shit eating grins.

When their server approached the table they couldn't help but ask out loud so all could hear, "What a lovely reception next door. We noticed there were mostly women." "Oh," replied the server, "it's a lesbian commitment ceremony."

Sweet.

By the by, there were two guests at the reception who brought their same-sex significant others.
