more randomness

This is my 101st post ... I didn't think this writing project would sustain my interest as I only started blogging to fill time periods (like Will Lightman in About A Boy) during my self imposed sabbatical and to practice writing (I have written so little since leaving college and even then I did a piss poor job of it).

I was never one to post very often (average ten ppm,) but lately, getting the opportunity, or at times, the drive to sit and write has become more challenging. My Honey doesn't know that I blog, so I write when he is out of the house or when I have some free time at work (which is never). Those moons have to align just write for me to get a post out. Lets see if I make it to 200 posts.

One blogging bonus benefit was discovering other writers across the world and then having the opportunity to meet (and drink with) some of them. I tend to read slice of life blogs (which is what I consider my blog) and stay away the political stuff (not that there's anything wrong with them). I read many blogs on a regular basis, but decided at this blog's inception that listing who I read wasn't something I wanted to do. Thank you anonymous bloggers for keeping me entertained with your randomness (and mundandacity - is that a word?)

I seriously know way too much about hurricanes now, so I've decided to change my return flight back to Sunday instead of Monday. I've had an offer to stay with my Miami BF if my flight is delayed or cancelled, but the weather is going to be shitty so what would be the point of staying in sunny Miami if it isn't. The thought of spending more time with my Miami BF is enticing, but I have obligations at home, namely my Honey, (and at work) to get back to.

Went to the movies yesterday and I didn't even know many of the releases playing. I chose Capote and was rewarded with a great movie. In Cold Blood was one the first adult novels I chose to read that wasn't on a required reading list; it was interesting to see a different perspective on a story that captivated me. Loved the Nelly Harper Lee characterization (who wrote and included Truman in To Kill A Mockingbird). I may pick up Breakfast at Tiffanys for the plane ride home. And the Complete New Yorker (who Truman wrote for) on DVD-ROM is starting to look more enticing. I love how one things leads me down a reading path.

Been using IE6 at the Cyber Cafe to post and view blogs on these past few days ... Mozilla is far superior and my recommended browser for viewing my blog.
