finally got around to seeing ...
Two Fridays ago, Heather called and invited us to see “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” Brad Pitt, once again, delivers a new entry onto my all time favorites list. I’m not a big action movie fan but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and wasn’t happy to see it end. Angelina throws a mean smack down. Thank you Doug Liman (Bourne Identity) for the great fight scenes!
We received another movie plea from Heather this past Friday, so we went to see “Mad Hot Ballroom” which follows the progress of school-aged students from three middle schools as they prepare for the citywide ballroom dance finals. They dance, they laugh, and they talk candidly about their parents’ infidelity (doh). In my favorite scene, Michael from Bensonhurst pontificates on why gay marriages should be allowed. Seven years from now, look for beautiful Wilson on the go-go boxes (not that I was lusting after him, I just see his potential).
Jorge placed his annual call to us and invited us to see “Batman Begins.” I was very pleased with the movie and hope that Christopher Nolan, who also directed “Memento,” delivers another installment. I loved all the actors (well almost all of them), the costumes, and the look of the movie. The villains were interesting and not “over the top.” I didn’t care for Katie Holmes (anyone could have played her role), the fight scenes (we heard them but didn’t see them due to cutting edge editing – maybe Christopher can talk to Doug Liman), and Batman blabbing his secret identity to Katie. What part of secret identity don’t you understand, Batman.

OMG, we loved Mad Hot Ballroom. Clearly my favorite movie of the year. In world that consistently disgusts and saddens me, this movie made me cry and gave me hope for the human race. I ain't kiddin' neither.
