at the multiplex
A few days after finally finishing the book, I went, with John W, to the art house at Shirlington and caught Payne's interpretation of Rex Pickett's novel. It rarely happens, but I found the movie more entertaining than the book. As I wrote in an earlier post, the book dragged on unnecessarily (movie, over in two hours). The movie followed the book's plot closely and I thought the actors portrayed the characters well (I didn't find them as annoying or whiny). Even the Hollywood movie ending wasn't as Hollywood as the book's Hollywood ending. Don't run to the theater - wait for the DVD release.
