not happy
Saki is not too happy with us. We had her ovaries removed and she's a tad bit upset because we didn't consult her. She's on pain medicine (lol) for a few days and we have to make sure she doesn't get riled up. "Have you met Saki?" I asked the vet tech. Looking forward to bath day because she's stinky (but still adorable).
Saki's also upset because the vet said she needed to lose weight. She's at 16 pounds and we have to slim her down to 15 pounds. It's easy for us to lose one pound, all we have to do is go drop off the kids in the pool, but for Saki, there's a long road ahead of her. She's dropping 6.25% of her total body weight. No more snacking in between meals for Saki and definitely no beer for her either.
Criminy! It was expensive to have her done. It's no wonder there's a population control issue. It ran us just under $600, which we can afford, but Jeez ... we just think it was too much. There were other cheap alternatives but we wanted to stick with the vet in local strip mall.
They charged us for: the visit (ok), a heartworm test (ok), a fecal test (ok), a rabies shot (she had a three year shot last year, but this new vet insisted Saki get another one since she was too young last year to get a three year shot ... huh?), a DHPP shot (I have no idea what that is for but if an acronym is used, it must be serious), an Inceptor (action figure?), pre-anesthetic profile (to determine which anesthetic works best with Saki's blood type), the anesthetic (Isoflurane Gas apparently does the trick), a surgical pack (no shit, a separate charge for scalpels and syringes and stuff like that, which I don't get to keep), an IV drip with Ketamine/Valium (nice), Rimadyl (mmmm ... Rimadyl), and a charge for the Ovariohysterectomy. They did give me a population control discount. Woo Hoo! A discount! (but it had a surcharge attached to it.)
She's a sexy bitch and worth every penny. I love her so much ...
... but not this much.
